I am David James Pascoe. Born and raised in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Educated at Lancaster High School, the University of Wisconsin--Platteville, and at Miami University. I have a BS in History, with a minor in
Philosophy. I spent two years in graduate school in history before dropping out and entering the exciting world of retail.
My interest in history continues to color my world. In graduate school I began my thesis on Wisconsin Governor Philip Fox LaFollette's National
Progressives of America. I still read widely in history, and believe it to be one of the vital ways of thinking.
My involvement in art spans more than 30 years. I am a bit abstract in my painting. I am increasingly playing with my wood lathes. I believe that
art is one of the vital ways of thinking.
My interest in science predates that of history. I began as a chemistry major, and was briefly flirted with botany. I believe that science is one of
the vital ways of thinking.
My grandfather was a Progressive Party of Wisconsin mayor. My interest in politics is enduring, if not entirely mainstream. I believe that politics
is one of the vital ways of thinking.
I have sold books, music, gasoline and tools. I have worked at the store level and at the corporate level. I have a deep and abiding relationship
with cash registers. I read widely on business, management and economics. I believe economics is one of the vital ways of thinking.
I own too many books, cds, dvds, tools and electronic gadgets. I believe in customers and am one. I believe consumerism is one of the vital
ways of thinking.
I believe in reading, thinking, watching, acting, trying, failing, learning, and golf. I do not really believe in teaching, even though I have known a
number of great teachers.
My opinions are my own. Enjoy them or not. I believe in diversity in all things.
